I'm BAAAAACK!!

Wow! I cannot believe that I have let so much time pass since I last posted something about my sassy silver hair. :) It should be down to my waist by now, right?? Well, not exactly. While I was away not blogging about my hair for the last couple of years I have gone through several attempts to grow it out to one length. I would inevitably go for a "trim" and then I'd get cut with layers. I couldn't seem to just tough it out and let it grow. Finally for the last several months I have only had the ends trimmed and the layers have finally all grown out. I can truly say that though my hair isn't really long, it is one length. From here, I plan to grow it out longer and make style decisions later. One day recently I asked my husband if I should get bangs cut and his answer just about cracked me up. He said, and I quote, "don't cut your hair. just grow it out until you have more material to work with." So I am going to let the "material" keep on growing for the rest of the summer. The best thing about this length is that it goes back into a pony tail where it is most of the time during this hot and humid Tennessee summer!! I will be back soon!! Thanks for reading.

Slow Growing

It has been a few months now since I have posted and it's partly due to major hair frustration. It's mainly due to life events happening and time going by too fast!!  I have hit a wall with my hair! It has been growing and I have had a couple of "shape up" trims with the goal still being to have a one length bob. Unfortunately, I am not all that happy with this in between length, how my hair is feeling to me, and I am currently fighting a strong urge to cut it short again and be done with it, especially with this ridiculous heat in middle Tennessee!! I am trying hard to persevere for now though I think my hair is thinner due to some meds I have to be on for Rheumatoid Arthritis and that has me a little doubtful as to how good it will look when the front and sides catch up with the back. I guess I won't ever know until I get there. In the meantime, this photo was taken at my mom's 90th birthday party about 3 weeks ago. It looks like my hair is darker than it really is but it's bad lighting I guess. The style is not my favorite and I had too much hair spray on it that day. But it's the only current picture I could find of me. I will try to post a different (better) one sooner. In the meantime here is what's happening for now.....

These photos are for Donna at Rock the Silver where a lively debate has ensued over woman tucking their jeans in their boots. It has been an interesting conversation! I have been wearing my jeans tucked in these tallish black boots all winter long. I have also worn them with black leggings. I always wear something that is longer on top than this red sweater but oh well. This is me in my boots with jeans tucked in and I feel all right about it. Of course I'd feel even better if I was about 10 or 15 pounds lighter but hey...I'm working on it. I am seriously happy with the way my hair is growing in. The longer it gets the more silver I see and I still haven't had a cut since September. Hope I can resist the temptation to get one but when I have that urge I just remind myself....long takes longer when you cut!!

The Growing Continues

Just a quick post to say I am still here!! The hair is growing and I am enjoying the new natural silvers. It has not been cut since the 17th of September and my plan is to continue to grow for a long bob style that can be pulled back into a ponytail again. I read that "long takes longer when you cut" so I am not going to have it cut for several more months. If it gets too annoying I may try for a bit of a trim but I hope I won't have to. It seems whenever I used to go for just a "trim" I would come out with what still felt like a "cut." And as I said before..."long takes longer when you cut". In the past month I have crossed paths with and commented to two different women on their natural silvers, both of whom had beautiful longer hair. They were so appreciative of the compliments and we chatted a while about the freedom of not coloring and of wearing it long. I was inspired by both women and felt very encouraged that I will really enjoy having long silver hair when it's here. So, on I shall grow!! May you have a merry Christmas and a very happy new year!!
